Erin Morley, Interior Designer

About

Erin Costa

"Great design should feel effortless — a space that welcomes you home and reflects who you are."

I founded Driftwood Design Interiors with a simple mission: to create beautiful, functional spaces that enhance the way my clients live. Design journalist, Dennis Scully, addressed graduates of the New York School of Design in his commencement speech saying: "What you do is extraordinary. Oh, people love to say, often with great confidence, Interior Design, it's not brain surgery. I disagree. You can rewire people's brains without ever opening them up. You can change the way someone feels the moment they walk in the room. You can lower stress, raise energy, create calm, spark joy, all through color, texture, light, scale, pattern, and proportion. You shape the environment that shapes people." My role is to help pinpoint how you want to feel in a space and bring that to life through thoughtful design that balances elegance with everyday living. Whether you're renovating a historic home or building new, I'm here to guide you through every decision with expertise and care.

After spending over a decade practicing corporate law in Boston, I decided to pivot and pursue my love of Interior Design. Before entirely leaving law behind, I took an Interior Design course at Rhode Island School of Design. The course confirmed what I initially thought - I just love this stuff! Pouring over colors, patterns, textures, lighting and wallpaper gets me giddy, but ultimately, I love working with clients to problem solve and find the right solution for them.

With a dual JD/MBA from Boston College, I will negotiate on your behalf with vendors or contractors to ensure your project is completed cost effectively, efficiently, and meticulously. My "prior life" as a lawyer gave me the skills to manage deadlines, logistics, and unexpected issues that a home renovation or design refresh may entail. I hope you'll trust me to take great care with your project - I look forward to working with you!

Design Philosophy

Timeless Over Trendy

I believe in creating spaces that stand the test of time. While I stay informed about current design movements, my approach favors classic proportions, quality materials, and a refined aesthetic that will feel just as fresh in twenty years as it does today.

"A well-designed room should feel like it has always been there — as natural and inevitable as the view from your window."

Every project begins with listening. I want to understand how you live, what brings you joy, and what makes you feel at home. From there, we build a design that's uniquely yours — grounded in timeless principles but perfectly tailored to your life.
